Mission Statement

The mission of School Lane Charter School Media Center is to provide a library media program which will enable individuals to becomeinformation literate and lifelong readers. The program will provide educational and technological opportunities to students and staff. The program will also enable individuals to access, analyze, assimilate, and use information effectively.

Goals of the Library Program

The goals of the library media program are:

• Students will access information through learning activities that are integrated into the curriculum.

• Assist students in becoming information literate.Select, retrieve, analyze, evaluate, synthesize, create, and communicate information in all formats and in all content areas of the curriculum.

• Use a range of equipment for accessing information.

• Encouraging students to choose books that are on their reading level and of personal interest.

• Teaching students to become lifelong learners and responsible digital citizens.
