23Grads

On Thursday June 15th, School Lane Charter School graduated its sixth senior class in a beautiful ceremony at Holy Ghost Prep’s Fieldhouse.

The ceremony started by honoring the United States of America with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Brendan Scott and a stunning rendition of our national anthem performed by Lorelei Klinck.  After inspiring opening marks by our CEO, Mrs. Karen Schade, and our IB Campus Principal, Mrs. Colette Weber, we were treated to student speeches.  Our student speakers, John Apice, Ryan Pailo, Chelsea Ramirez-Porras, and Faith Roberts, each took time to look back fondly on their years at School Lane… some of whom stretch all the way back to Kindergarten!  They each highlighted class and personal achievements, praise for their supportive teachers and families, as well as well-wishes for bright and successful futures to their classmates.

Because of the generous donations of our staff throughout the year, we were pleased to present four SLCS Faculty Scholarships for academic achievement to Maci McKelvey, Joseph Pasato, Faith Roberts, and Binisha Shrestha.  We were also able to present two SLCS Faculty Scholarships to Faith Eldow and Emaan Niaz for outstanding demonstration of the IB Learner Profile Character Traits.

Diplomas were conferred to the Class of 2023 by SLCS Board of Trustees members Surya Vedula and Bharvin Patel, who each had the unique honor of presenting diplomas to their own children.  Once students returned to their seats, Mrs. Schade directed students to move their tassel from the right to left and declared the group graduates of School Lane Charter School.

We look forward to sharing the statistics on the Class of 2023’s achievements, acceptances, and scholarship totals in July.  Congratulations to all on a job well done and continue to make us proud!
