Ms. Finegan is the first friendly face you’ll meet as you enter our 3340 building at the IB Campus. In addition to running the front desk, she serves as our attendance officer for the IB Campus, and handles all of the requirements related to the National School Lunch Program application and reporting. If you haven’t been approved already, this is a great time to submit a Free or Reduced Lunch application! Mrs. Bauer, Mrs. Cerrito, and Ms. Wlodarczyk represent our Business and Human Resources Department. Though their department is small, it is mighty! They handle budgets, billing, benefits, payroll, grants, state and federal reporting, just to name a few!

Mr. McCullough is the Facilities Manager at the IB Campus. This summer he is working hard to ensure that the newest buildings in our organization keep that fresh and clean feel. He’s always one of the first to offer a helping hand to anyone who may need support at the IB Campus. You’ll also see him during arrival keeping traffic following smoothly to keep our students and staff safe- even in the rain, sleet, and snow! Thank you for your hard work to keep that campus in great shape for our students and staff!

Mr. Hood and Mr. Schoemaker run the IT department here at SLCS. In addition to building and managing our network and systems, they are responsible for over 1400 laptops and Chromebooks, as well as SMARTBoards, projectors, cameras, phones, AV systems, HVAC systems and so on. We often say that if it has a cord attached to it, these two can figure out a way to make it work! Thank you both for your hard work throughout the year keeping us up and running!

Mr. Jason and Mr. Colin use the summer months to tackle bigger construction and improvement projects at our Elementary Campus that are difficult to complete while school is in session. Did you know portions of that building are well over 100 years old?! Thank you both for your hard work to keep that campus in great shape for our students and staff!

During this first week of summer break, Leadership Teams from both of our campuses worked together to reflect on the past school year and set plans in motion for a successful 2023-2024 school year.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our end of the year 6th grade community impact project! We were able to donate numerous boxes to Harvest Ministries, a local community organization right next door to the school. They were so appreciative!

SLCS kicked off Senior Week with our annual "Senior Strut" through the halls of the Elementary Campus! Our Elementary students were thrilled to congratulate and cheer on the Class of 2023 as our Seniors reminisced about their days at the Bristol Pike Campus.
The 6th graders learn about force, motion, and gravity in Science throughout the year. Their culminating project is the Egg Drop where they create a project to protect an egg when it is dropped from increasing heights. They go through the design cycle and test their project to be prepared for today when it is dropped first from a ladder, then from the roof of the school, and finally, any surviving projects are dropped from the fire truck ladder! The students did great and many of their creative projects survived the drops! A big "Thank You" to the Bensalem Fire Department for their participation in this exciting annual event. The 6th graders are finishing their final Spanish unit learning all about Hispanic culture, celebrations, and food! They created a menu with typical Hispanic dishes and chose one from a Spanish speaking country to prepare and share today during their end of unit celebration!
We had our 5th Grade DARE Graduation ceremony this morning! All of the students did a terrific job participating in the lessons, and a student from each homeroom was recognized today for their outstanding effort on the DARE essay, and another student for exemplifying the teachings of DARE in their daily words and actions. A huge "Thank You" to the Bensalem Police Department for this program and to Detective Oliverio for being our awesome DARE Officer! Josh and Kate, experts from the Elmwood Zoo, came to visit to teach the 5th graders more about the importance of conservation! We learned about biodiversity, endangered species in the wild, and unique characteristics of some of their animal friends who came along for the visit too. The 5th grade students raised a total of $606 last night at their 5th Grade Saves the World Exhibition through the silent auction of their fantastic art work! They painted silhouettes of nature in Art class, shared their rainforest stories they have been writing in ELA, and showcased their prototype to combat an environmental issue as part of their Environmental Action Plan project in Design Tech and Science. Thank you to all of the families who came out to support and participate, all the teachers who work together on this interdisciplinary project, and all the students for their hard work this trimester putting it all together!
