Our DP Physics students took learning to new heights on a field trip to iFLY in King of Prussia! Students had the exciting opportunity to apply and test their understanding of physics concepts in a real-world setting. The IB Campus was buzzing with excitement today as we hosted our annual College & Career Fair! 🎓
Students participated in classroom sessions where guest presenters shared valuable insights about a wide range of college and career pathways. These sessions gave our students a chance to ask questions, explore interests, and begin thinking more deeply about their futures.
Students also had the opportunity to attend the fair and visit tables of their choice, connecting directly with colleges, technical programs, military, and career representatives.
We are proud to provide experiences like this that empower our students to explore their options. We couldn’t do it without the wonderful community members who volunteered their time today. Thank you! The future is bright! 🌟 You can see more photos here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/xiFbW3Rnku6ZzebDA

Happy School Counselor Appreciation Week! Our school counselors play a vital role in helping students develop IB Learner Profile traits like being caring, balanced, reflective, and open-minded. Thank you for guiding, listening, and advocating for our students every day. We’re so grateful for all you do for the SLCS community! 🌍📚✨

Building Strong Communicators at the IB Campus! This week, students participated in community meetings focused on the IB Learner Profile trait: Communicator. Together, we explored what it means to be an effective communicator, including the importance of calling in rather than calling out. Through group discussions and real-world scenarios, students practiced problem-solving and respectful dialogue skills to set them up for success in school and beyond. 🌍✨

The high school soccer season started off with a tough game against Kimberton Waldorf School that ended in a tie 2-2 after double overtime. Great effort!

We are flying with the Eagles at the IB Campus today

9th Grade Field Trip to the Museum of Illusions in Philadelphia. In preparation for the IB Diploma Program, students are introduced to how easily we can be tricked in our perception of the world through what we take in through our senses. The Museum of Illusions is a physical, visual and sensory experience teaching students about perspective, and how our brain interprets reality.

This week 9th grade leaders are working with 8th grade students with our partners Tree Trails. Students engage in physical activities designed to build character and teamwork. Last week, 9th grade leaders were trained in how to lead these activities.

8th grade leaders presented to 7th grade about their experiences for Service as Action. Our leaders shared projects they have done in their communities and neighborhoods. Engaging with people and organizations outside of school is an important part of the IB program as they gain an understanding of local issues. Students have worked with GreenDrop, and the Womens' Animal Shelter. Other students cleaned up community centers and playing fields or interviewed soldiers about their experiences.

On Friday January 10, 7th and 8th grade students attended an assembly led by a speaker from Minding Your Mind. The students heard about the speaker's personal experience as a middle and high school student struggling with anxiety and depression. Students were able to ask some questions. This assembly is part of our ongoing work with students in social-emotional learning. https://mindingyourmind.org/

On Friday, January 3, 2025, we were pleased to have members of the Class of 2024 Full Diploma Program return to the IB Campus for dinner and the conferring of IB Diplomas and certificates. It was lovely to have an opportunity to catch up with everyone and hear how the IB helped prepare them for this next chapter of their lives!

This past Friday, December 6, 2024, we were pleased to have one of our seniors, Jamison Hirsh, commit to Syracuse University. Jamison has been playing ice hockey since she was six years old and has shown dedication not only to her sport, but her intensive IB coursework as well. Jamison has been a School Lane student since kindergarten. Jamison was joined by her family, friends and teachers to celebrate this milestone. Great job Jamison!

Middle School has school spirit! Students dressed in their class colors, orange and green, during spirit week.
