Peter Hyams, President
Peter Hyams is a pharmacist, working for a company that serves hospitals in many states throughout the country. He joined the board 12 years ago while his daughter was a student at School Lane Charter School. Peter began his service on the board with a vision of influencing curricular improvements and to this day, continues to work toward keeping School Lane on the path of academic excellence. It is his hope that School Lane will be able to serve the students on the school's enrollment waiting list and to provide educational opportunities to children in other communities.
Joseph Cummons, Vice President
Joseph Cummons is the Director of Operations & Strategy for a financial services company. Joe joined the board in 2006 because he believes charter schools play an essential role in providing public school choice. He would like to see School Lane expand beyond its current location to other school districts in the region and grow into its approved K-12 program to provide students with a complete School Lane education.
Todd Fox, Member
Todd Fox has worked for the Department of Homeland Security since 2002. He currently holds a management position in the TSA. Prior to that, he worked for 12 years in Law Enforcement. He is proud to have two children attending School Lane. Mr. Fox joined the Board of Trustees in 2014 because he was impressed with the direction and vision of School Lane and remains a strong advocate of school choice.
Surya Vedula, Member
A technology management consultant for a Fortune 100 company and an active member of the Bensalem community, Surya Vedula is also the proud father of four children. Surya's service continues a family history of participation in the education system, for which he has great passion.
Ed Guster, Member
Ed Guster is employed by the United States Government as an Inspector for the Environmental Protection Agency. Both his daughter and son are enrolled at the school and he believes that they are receiving the best education in the area. Guster has served as a board member for other organizations in the past and has extensive government relations experience.
Brian Marks , Member
Mr. Brian Marks serves as Aramark’s Director of Digital and Web Marketing. A graduate of Kutztown University with a degree in English—Professional Writing and a minor in Public Relations, Brian has worked in various communications positions since the turn of the millennium. Brian said he joined the Board of Trustees to lend his voice to enhancing students’ experiences by helping to shape opportunities provided to children and their families. He looks forward to using his skills and professional experiences to help build and grow the School Lane community from the inside out.
Rosita Shaw, Member
Dr. Rosita Shaw is an Occupational Therapist at the Bucks County Intermediate Unit where she provides unique intervention opportunities to children ages 3-5. Born in Italy, Rosita, at a young age, immigrated with her family to the United States. She entered the Bensalem School District in kindergarten and holds multiple degrees and professional certifications from various higher learning institutions. She is the mother of two, one who is a current School Lane Charter School student and another who graduated from eighth grade before moving on to a private high school. Rosita said that she plans to work diligently to continue School Lane’s vision while advocating for every child’s needs.
Bharvin Patel, Member
Mr. Bharvin Patel has served School Lane Charter School as a trustee in prior years before returning to the Board in 2018. He works at International SOS Assistance Inc. as the organization’s Working Controller and Treasurer. His corporate experience includes managing a wide range of finance functions such as budgets, audits, compliance, banking and cash management. Bharvin said that he returned to the Board of Trustees to continue his belief in giving back to the school that has become a trusted and cherished institution in his family, and to ensure that the School Lane mission and vision continue for both the current enrollees and those in years to come.
